We love the change of season from spring to summer. However, we often find ourselves hot and uncomfortable as the temperature rises. So we put together our top tips on how to stay cool in summer and enjoy the warmth.
Choose natural fabrics
Natural fabrics are more breathable and absorb sweat a lot quicker than manufactured materials, like polyester. Also, they dry much quicker, so you can avoid feeling sweaty for longer.
Change your handbag to a smaller crossbody bag
Carrying around a large handbag, that’s full and heavy is a sure way to break out into a sweat. Downsize and choose something you don’t have to carry with our new range of cross body bags that are perfect to beat the heat this summer.
Keep a scarf on you
If you start to feel warm, keep a scarf on you to keep the sun off your skin and keep your hair away from your neck. Our scarves are super light and breathable, so you can cover your head, stay cool and they won’t feel heavy or hot.
We also love them for when the nights get cooler as a light wrap, making them perfect for all summer long.
Keep your clothes loose
Wearing loose clothes helps air to circulate around your body and will help you to stay cool. Wearing a pair of lightweight floaty trousers will keep you cooler than tighter denim shorts.
Cover up your skin with light layers
Not only is the sun damaging to your skin and causes premature ageing, but it also raises your body temperature when it is directly on your skin. We love our new kaftan as it’s light and keeps the sun off our skin when we’re out and about.
Swap your bra for the lighter alternative
Underwire, padding and thick material can increase the heat next to your skin. Try and non-padded bra or a bralette, without underwire, to keep you cool and feeling great.
Freshen up with a summer fragrance
There are times when we can’t avoid getting hot and sweaty, so we carry around one of our handy Eau de toilettes to keep you smelling fresh and beautiful this summer.
We particularly love our Salcombe Bay fragrance on super hot days, as it contains eucalyptus and sea salt. They smell like fresh air and help you naturally breath easier.
